Arroz con leche (rice pudding)

You will need:

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups of whole milk
  • 1/3 cup short grain white rice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup raisins (optional)

Directions:

In a medium saucepan combine milk, rice and sugar and bring to boil over medium heat. Add in the vanilla and cinnamon. Reduce heat to low and simmer until the rice is tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.Stir frequently to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Remove from heat and add the raisins. Serve cold.

Tip:

For better taste you can use evaporated milk instead of whole milk.
